The ministry of information Akwa Ibom State is embarking On a 2-week open governance tour to acquaint the public with the achievements of the Udom Emmanuel administration.
The tour tagged ‘Open Governance Tour 2017’ commenced today with a visit to Akwa Prime Hatchery in Uruan local government area .
On the Akwa Prime Hatchery project, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Charles Udoh expressed satisfaction with the activities of the hatchery and the value chain created by Governor Udom Emmanuel to engage Akwa Ibom people in productive ventures
He stated that this is a bold step to economic diversification in Akwa Ibom state
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical Matters and Due Process,Engr Ufot Ebong said that Akwa Ibom State is the largest off- taker of day old chicks in the eastern part of Nigeria
In the course of the tour projects in the educational sector, Akwa Ibom Employment and Enterprise Scheme (AKEES), road projects across Uyo, Eket and IkotEkpene senatorial districts, agricultural projects, Ikot Abasi Jetty project, Airport Taxi way, cocoa plantation, coconut plantation, tomato farms across the state,skills acquisition and all special projects will be assessed
In attendance were media aides to Governor Udom Emmanuel Mr Essien Ndueso , Mrs Meflyn Anwana, a cross section of journalists in the state, bloggers and members of the public .
