I’m Saviour Udoh, a Native of Ikot Akpa Idem in Ukanafun Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
My village is a stone trow to Idung Neke, the village of Dr. Idongesit Udom. When I heard of the kidnap of Dr Idongesit Udom , I wept and in my Prayers and I made a covernant with God that I will let the World hear of the very good help Dr. Idongesit Udom has offered me, when he is released.
Early november last year (2016) I was in school and I had an urgent need of #92,000,00 (Ninenty two thousand naira). I taught of where to raise such amount of money but I was confused and stranded.
One good morning while meditating a revelation hit me. As my spiritual father Apst. Dr
Itoro Etefia will say; The difference between a RICH and POOR Man is not ALOCATION nor LOCATION but REVELATION.
As a Brand an Print specialist I was strike with an insight that if I produce seasons greatings cards to SURE FOUNDATION POLYTECHNIC with their advert runing at the back of the card it will go a long way to help the school in her advertorials and publicity and I will also earn some cash as a result of my Creativity and concept.
I started and completed work on the proposal which included the graphical concept and pictorial layout.
The next day I found my way to Dr. Idongesit Udom’s office at Sure Foundation Polytechnic. That was my first time of meeting him and we had the following conversation:
Me: Good morning sir
Dr. Udom: Ada owo good morning ade lie?
Me: Sir I’m Saviour Udoh and am from the nearby Community Ikot Akpa Idem precisely
Dr Udom: My son welcome
Me: Please sir I’m here to present a business proposal to you
Dr. Udom: ok where is your office and are you a student?
Me: my office is in Abak and am a student of Unical
Dr Udom : but how do you cope with your studies and business?
Me: I have staff that work for me and I come in every weekends for supervision
Dr Udom : I can see your passion for your field of endevour even as a student.
Me: Thank you sir
Dr Udom : For the reason of your passion and desperation I will award you the contact though I have my printer already from Port Harcourt but let me try your Creativity and support your business to help you aquire your education.
Me: Thank you sir and God bless you
That is how I got the contract.
Dr. Idongesit Demas Udom is a light that SHINES for others.
Thank you Lord for the release of ELDER (DR.) IDONGESIT DEMAS UDOM
Praise be to God!
Great thing He has done!
Below are the dreams and archivements of Elder Dr. Idongesit
Demas Udom. (abstrace from SFP formal inuguration and 1st Matriculation ceremony sovernir brochure)
Sure Foundation Polytechnic is a product of three dreams. The first dream came from his late father Elder Demas Udom Udoneke who dreamt in 1964 that his son Dr Idongesit Udom would be a mechanical engineer to work in the oil industry after observing Shell Oil Company who came to Odoro Ikot village in Ukanafun L.G.A for oil drilling. His late father in 1971 sent him to study mechanical engineering at the then popular Community Technical College, Ikot Akata in Mkpat Enin L.G.A of Akwa Ibom State. While there, his father’s vision was confirmed in 1972, while he was still dreaming on a regular basis about Helicopter taking him to offshore platforms in the Atlantic Ocean to work as a technologist.
He was privileged to enjoy the then South Eastern State Scholarship from 1972 – 1975. After his secondary technical education, he gained employment to teach in the same college by the then Cross River State Teaching Service Commission, Calabar between September 1975 to September 1977.
In 1977, he was admitted to study Mechanical Engineering in the then College of Technology, Calabar, but later abandoned the college to study Electronics Engineering Technology in Devry University of Technology, Dallas, Texas USA through Federal Government Scholarship programme. This University was established by three Telecommunication Engineers from Bell & Howell Company which become the foundation of my inspiration for Sure Foundation Polytechnic.
The second dream he had on returning to Nigeria in 1980, was on how to reciprocate the scholarships gestures he enjoyed from my secondary school to tertiary levels. Then, he declared to himself that he would award as many scholarships as possible to any Nigerian.
The third dream was in1996. After a technical training in Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), Calgary, Canada, and another one year Oil & Gas / NGL / LNG training in PT Arun Gas Plant in Indonesia, he dreamt to build an Oil and Gas Polytechnic.
In 1980, he was recommended for employment by Mobil Oil Corporation Office in Dallas, Texas, USA to be engaged in Mobil Oil Corporation (Nigeria). After he had worked with Nigerian Television Authority NTA channel 9, Calabar and Cross River Teaching service for a period of five months, he resumed duty at Mobil producing Nigeria, Ibeno, Akwa Ibom State on January 5, 1981. At this point, the dream of his late father that he would be an Engineer and work in an Oil industry became a reality. In the year 2009, he was adjudged as the only Nigerian who had awarded full scholarships to over eighty (80) Nigerian students studying in Nigerian universities and Polytechnics through personal earnings. It was in recognition of this philanthropic gestures that the International Union of Students in Czech Republic awarded him the Best Professional of the year 2009.
In July 2016, Sure Foundation Polytechnic, modeled after Devry Institute of Technology, Calgary, Canada, was granted a Licence to operate as a Private Polytechnic in Nigeria.
By this Licence, Sure Foundation Polytechnic became third approved Private Polytechnic after Heritage Polytechnic and Uyo City Polytechnic in Akwa Ibom State.
Though third in Akwa Ibom State, Sure Foundation Polytechnic occupies a strategic position in learning and technical education in Nigeria. It is on this premise that Sure Foundation Polytechnic is adjudged as:
First Private Polytechnic in Akwa Ibom State to start with Licence without any affiliation.
First Polytechnic in Akwa Ibom to start with hostel facilities.
First Polytechnic built according to Master Plan.
First approved private Polytechnic in Akwa Ibom North – West Senatorial District.
Number one DAKKADA Project in Ukanafun L.G.A.
First Licenced Polytechnic built by a Bicycle Repairer’s Son.
The Polytechnic project commenced in 2006 with the foundation laying by Rev. D. T. Udousung of Qua Iboe Church, followed in 2009, the school of Computer Science and Library was built.
In 2010 – 2013 the Six in one story building Girls Dormitory foundation in 2014.
In 2014, the Male Dormitory was built.
In 2014 – 2015, the school of Management was built.
In 2015, all the Laboratory Equipment, Computers, Office Equipment, and other building were purchased and completed.
In March 2016, NBTE Team visited for approval and were shock with what they saw in a village and recommended straight to the Federal Ministry of Education for License and approval.
In July 7, 2016 License was issued.
To God be the Glory.
Saviour Udoh write to celebrate and Thank God for the release of Dr Idongesit Udom.
