This is the model of the 2-Storey Office Complex conceived by Elder Patrick Albert-led administration for the Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ ), Akwa Ibom State Council.
Patrick Albert’s first term brought tremendous boost to NUJ which accounted for his re-election for a 2nd term in office.
Albert’s zeal to better the lot of NUJ in Akwa Ibom State has continued impressively. This burning zeal by the Right Honourable Chairman ( as fondly called by many) besides attracting dulcet acknowledgements from members of the Union has allured non members to register their candid vignette of Elder Patrick Albert’s leadership. A figment among the myriads of example is when the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Obong Paul Ekpo at the NUJ Press Week/ Award Night few months ago described Elder Patrick Albert as ” A gift to NUJ”.
To prove true to the lofty but deserving conferral, despite the biting economy, the NUJ helmsman recently attracted the goodwill of Oil giant, ExxonMobil for the roofing of the 2-Storey Office Complex.
Glaringly, he is committed to having the edifice completed as soon as possible. Journalists in Akwa Ibom State are proud of this jinx breaker. Their pride is not just that he has won a second term in office, the first since the creation of Akwa Ibom State, but that he has also successfully partnered with the Offot Ukwa Clan Council and Aka Community to remove the dreaded Masquerade Shrine in the NUJ premises.
Just as Comrade Honour Sirawoo President of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN ) at the 53 Anniversary Celebration of SWAN in Uyo, on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 stated that ” Akwa Ibom State is blessed to have someone like Elder Patrick Albert as Chairman of NUJ because of his intelligence and resourcefulness”. In just less than eight months in office, It has become indisputable that journalists rightly supported a leader that dreams and follows the dream to its realization because in less than 15 days, the 2-Storey Office Complex will be roofed by the Bonny Nyong led Committee.
