
Mrs. Esther Lawrence Udoide; wife of the Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Inter-party Advisory Affairs (IPAC), was arrested by Policemen on thursday, 19th April 2018 in connection with the just concluded election of Conference of Nigerian political Parties (CNPP) Akwa Ibom State chapter.
Mrs. Udoide; a blown pregnant woman was arrested at her shop along Afaha Ubeh Street, Uyo by men of the Nigerian police led by Sargent Usa Brown on allegation that her husband Hon. Udoide; SA to the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State used his office to influence the conduct of the just concluded CNPP election in the state which comrade Lincoln Charles of the Hope Democratic Party was elected AKS chairman of the body.
Available nformations reveal that Mrs. Udoide who was arrested in the early hours of thursday, 19 April 2018 was subjected to all kind of torture before her subsequent released at about 10:30pm same day.
Findings also reveal that the petition that led to the arrest of this innocent pregnant woman was signed by Mr Stern Etim, Mr. Joseph Itiaba, Rev. Aniebiet Emmanuel and Mr Kelvin Umoh.
It was gathered that they alleged that the said election would have produced Mr Kelvin Umoh; but not for the influence of the Special Assistant.
Prior to this incident, it could be recalled that Mr Stern Etim, Aniebiet Emmanuel, Joseph Itiaba and Kelvin Umoh had written a letter to the Department of State Security Service (DSS), Uyo, and the State Police Headquarters, Ikot Akpanabia declaring Mr Kelvin Umoh as the new CNPP Chairman before the expiration of the last executive council of the organization without any election/selection.
Meanwhile, the election of the organization was conducted in a peaceful atmosphere with several Stakeholders and national executives officers supervised the entire processes to inauguration admitting to be peaceful, fair and credible on Friday, 13th April 2018 at Albert Suite, Uyo.
