Governor Umo Eno Meets NYCN Akwa Ibom Leadership, Calls on Youths to Protect Peace and Unity

Governor Pastor Umo Eno has met with the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, where he charged young people to remain focused on self-development while playing their part in preserving the peace and unity currently enjoyed in the State.

‎During the meeting, the Governor emphasized that youths are critical stakeholders in the future of Akwa Ibom and must channel their energy toward personal growth, skills acquisition, and responsible leadership. He noted that peace and stability are essential foundations for sustainable development and must not be taken for granted.

‎The Governor explained that his administration established a dedicated Ministry of Youth Development to ensure that youth-related policies and programmes receive the attention and structure they deserve. He added that the government continues to make deliberate investments in initiatives such as DASAC and Ibom LED, designed to equip young people with practical skills, leadership capacity, and access to opportunities that will prepare them for the future.

‎As the State gradually moves toward 2027, Governor Umo Eno urged Akwa Ibom youths to reject violence and resist being used to disrupt the peace. According to him, political differences should never be allowed to undermine unity, stability, and the collective progress of the State.

‎He reaffirmed that Akwa Ibom must continue on the path of peaceful coexistence, growth, and development, stressing that the role of youths in sustaining this vision cannot be overstated.

‎The Governor concluded by restating his administration’s unwavering commitment to supporting the dreams, talents, and aspirations of young people, assuring them that government will continue to create enabling environments and platforms for youth empowerment across the State.
