A’Ibom Women Leaders Declare Backing for Tinubu, Eno, Akpabio, Pledge Statewide Mobilisation 

Women political stakeholders in Akwa Ibom State have declared unified support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno and Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, vowing to intensify grassroots mobilisation to sustain what they described as governance stability anchored on inclusion and collaboration.

The resolution was reached at a stakeholders’ meeting of the ARISE with Renewed Hope Initiative held at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Uyo, where women leaders across political clusters gathered to strengthen coordination ahead of broader state and national engagements.

The International Director of Women Affairs of the initiative, Dr. Glory Edet, said the meeting was convened with the approval of the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, to deepen collaboration among women political actors and ensure inclusive participation in governance processes.

Edet urged stakeholders to prioritize local government coordination and avoid sentiment-driven decisions in mobilization efforts, stressing that collective strategy would deliver stronger outcomes across communities.

She announced that the leadership of the initiative, under its President General, Engr. Uwem Okoko would begin tours of the 31 local government areas to inaugurate coordinators and officers as part of preparations for expanded engagement statewide.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon. Inibehe Silas, alongside party officials and cluster representatives, reaffirmed support for the continued leadership of Tinubu, Eno, and Akpabio, describing women as critical drivers of political stability and development.

Among participants were wives of National Assembly members, commissioners, legislators and council chairmen, as well as leaders of affiliated groups including the Wives of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (WALGON), Legislators’ Wives Association (LEWA)and Commissioners and Special Advisers Wives Association(COSAWA)

Also, in attendance were the State Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party, Obonganwan Obondo Uko, and Mrs. Ini Louisa Ntukekpo, wife of the APC, State Party Chairman.

The stakeholders commended the Office of the First Lady for convening the meeting and pledged sustained mobilization of women across the state in support of the administration at both state and national levels.
