Akwa United yesterday in match day 36 of the Nigeria Professional Football League recorded another home victory by defeating Lobi stars of Makaudi 2-1.
The match became tough as the two teams thrived to take full control of the field when the landlords of Uyo(Akwa United) muscle up power and took charge of the game.
Musa Newman shine up Akwa United for scoring the 1st goal in the match and made his Number 10th goals of the season while Gabriel Okechukwu scored the 2nd goal making his number 3 goal in the season though received a yellow card for willfully handling a ball with his hand.
on the other hand, Kingsley Eduwo bailed Lobi stars out for scoring one goal which took him to his 13th goals since the commencement of the league.
However, all the lucks came in the 1st half of the match as the 2nd half witnessed a hard time as no goal was recorded from the two teams despite series substitutions and replacement.
Akwa United missed several opportunities of making it to the net in the 2nd half which Musa Newman attributed it to bad pitch.
Lobi stars as well thrive to score a second goal but to no avail which ended the match in 2-1.
Meanwhile, Akwa United has gotten 57 points and still maintain the 3rd position on the Log remaining two matches ahead for Uyo landlords to finish up the league.
