The Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Anthony Nyong, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, received the Iwaad Atai Uyo Federal Constituency Group at the Council Secretariat, Odot, where the organization commended his administration’s strides and formally endorsed Governor Umo Eno for a second term in office.

Iwaad Atai Uyo, a socio-political group dedicated to promoting and projecting the collective interests of the four Local Government Areas that make up the Atai Uyo bloc, described the Chairman as a transformative leader whose first year has recorded visible progress in community development.

Leading the delegation, the International President of the group, Obong Iwaad Prince Edem Simon, praised the Chairman’s performance across key sectors. “Prince Nyong has performed beyond expectations. His achievements in road grading, human development, agricultural empowerment, and modernization of the council secretariat reflect focused and purposeful leadership,” he said, noting that the visit also aimed to celebrate the Chairman’s inclusive governance.

As a structured organization with coordinators across the four LGAs, each coordinator reinforced the President’s remarks. Comrade Idongesit Okon of Uyo lauded the Chairman’s impact on grassroots communities; Hon. Patrick Inyang of Uruan highlighted the administration’s accessibility and openness; Rt. Hon. Also speaking, the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Mr. Joseph Okon, described Prince Nyong as a symbol of Unity. “The Chairman’s leadership style, defined by humility and inclusiveness, has strengthened the administration and fostered unity among stakeholders,” he said.

In his response, Hon. Prince Nyong expressed gratitude for the honour and support. “I am humbled by your recognition. I will continue to give my best to ensure Nsit Atai stands out in development and service delivery,” he stated. He urged the group to sustain their support for Governor Umo Eno, noting that “His Excellency has shown commitment to grassroots development and the welfare of our people.” He further commended the International President for fostering unity and encouraged the group to maintain harmony across the Atai Uyo bloc.

Earlier, the tone of the gathering was set by the Group’s Spokesperson, Hon. Ifiok Akpan, who described the visit as one driven by solidarity, shared vision, and acknowledgment of credible leadership.
