Women in Nsit Atai Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State have pledged unwavering support for Governor Umo Eno, vowing to deliver massive votes in the 2027 general elections.
The declaration was made during the Women Sensitization Tour, which drew stakeholders, political leaders, and community representatives who reaffirmed their loyalty to the Governor’s leadership and the ARISE Agenda.
Welcoming the delegation, Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai, Hon. Tony Nyong, described the women as dependable pillars of the local government’s political structure. “These are my wives, sisters, and mothers. They will not let me down, and come 2027, they will not let us down,” he said, noting that the women gather weekly to pray for the Governor and the peace of the community.
Nyong commended Governor Eno for infrastructural strides, particularly road projects long abandoned. “The road you came through started when I was still small, but now it will soon be commissioned. The Governor has done so much for our people,” he added.
Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon. Inibehe Silas Etukudoh, urged women to secure their National Identification Numbers (NIN), Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and APC membership cards. She called for door-to-door mobilisation, stressing that civic responsibility must complement prayers.
Special Adviser, Bureau of Cooperative Development, Rt. Hon. Alice Ekpeyong, announced plans to establish functional cooperatives across wards to position women for grants and sustainable businesses, aligning with the ARISE Agenda’s grassroots empowerment drive.

Other speakers, including Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Emem Ibanga, and Member representing Nsit Atai in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Aniefiok Attah, described the cooperative initiative as a strategic empowerment model. Federal lawmaker Rt. Hon. Mark Essiet assured that Nsit Atai would maintain its tradition of peaceful and organised elections.
The Paramount Ruler of Nsit Atai expressed gratitude for the Governor’s grassroots engagement, while the First Lady Designate encouraged women to complement prayers with civic action by securing identification documents.

Representing the Governor, Deputy Governor Senator Akon Eyakenyi charged women to intensify mobilisation across villages and wards. She emphasised that Governor Eno deliberately prioritised rural development, citing compassionate homes, schools, and road projects as evidence of inclusive governance.
In her vote of thanks, Mrs. Emem Anthony Nyong, wife of the Executive Chairman, pledged that Nsit Atai women would not disappoint in 2027.
The event concluded with renewed calls for unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC), symbolised by the broom, as leaders urged women to remain steadfast in the party’s collective vision.
The Women Sensitization Tour continues across Akwa Ibom’s local government areas, deepening civic awareness, strengthening grassroots structures, and consolidating the gains of the ARISE Agenda.
