Emmanuel Enoidem’s Defection to APC Marks a New Political Chapter in Akwa Ibom

In what many observers are calling a watershed moment in Akwa Ibom politics, eminent legal practitioner and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem, officially joins the All Progressives Congress (APC) today, January 23, 2026.

The formal reception, set for 3pm at the Etim Ekpo Township Stadium, is expected to draw a large crowd of national and state political leaders, party stakeholders, professionals, and enthusiastic supporters. The event will serve as a grand welcome for the Senior Advocate into the APC fold, fueling optimism about the party’s growing influence in the state.

Ahead of the re-union rally, Akwa Ibom State APC Leader and Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, led Barr. Enoidem and other key stakeholders on a courtesy visit to the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, at his residence in Uyo.

Senator Akpabio hailed Enoidem’s decision as a major boost to the APC, describing it as a reflection of Governor Umo Eno’s inclusive and bridge-building leadership style. He noted that the Governor has surprised many with his ability to unite diverse political interests in pursuit of the state’s progress.

Also the Senate President expressed confidence that the APC in Akwa Ibom is poised for resounding victories, citing the party’s strategic mobilisation and sustained grassroots engagement. He further congratulated Governor Umo Eno and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasizing that citizens are increasingly drawn to the APC due to visible achievements, inclusive governance, and a growing sense of stability.

Akpabio concluded by stressing that Governor Eno’s leadership is laying the foundation for a lasting legacy of peace and development, noting that sustainable progress can only thrive in an atmosphere of unity and harmony.
