Nollywood divas, Uche Jombo and Juliet Ibrahim, were the cynosure of all eyes as they anchored the Akure edition of the Glo
Mega Music Nationwide Tour held at the Golden Events Centre, Akure, Ondo State, last Saturday.
The beautiful pair who had compered some editions of the show together shone line a million stars at the event, exuding class and panache. They took control of the stage and executed the running order smoothly while exchanging banters with the artistes.
Their presence and performance added glamour to the show just as the crowd had an emotional day with sultry songbird, Yemi Alade who remembered her late dad from Ondo State. The talented songstress waxed nostalgic as she declared that her late father would have been proud of her grand “homecoming” if he were alive to witness the day.
Midway into her electrifying performance, she jolted the audience as she said, “It may interest you all to know that this girl standing before you tonight is actually from this great state, Ondo State. My father was from Ondo state and I am happy that Glo brought me back home. If my daddy were alive today, he would be happy that his daughter is back home”.
She appeared to have awakened the kindred spirit in the crowd as she added, “I am your daughter and your sister and I am delighted coming to my roots. I thank Globacom once again for this opportunity to see my people; I love you all”. The crowd could not hold back as they danced excitedly to the beats of their home-coming sister.
Popular Yoruba movie star, Odunlade Adekola, was celebrity guest, while sensational female disc jockey, DJ Lambo, spewed magnetising beats from her jukebox.
Runtown, Korede Bello, Phyno Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa, Timaya, and the King of the street lingo, Olamide, a.k.a. Baddo, gave the show the perfect finishing with their outstanding performances.
Globacom’s Ondo State Manager, Tunji Omoworare, in a short welcome address assured the crowd that “in addition to having the best network, Globacom is the only network that is capable of giving its subscribers this kind of world-class treat, and the more you stay with Globacom, the more you will continue to enjoy the best of services”.
