The Akwa Ibom State Government, through the Akwa Ibom State Agency for the Control of AIDS (AKSACA), has released the official lineup of events for the 2025 World AIDS Day (WAD) commemoration. Themed “Overcoming Disruptions; Sustaining the HIV Response,” this year’s observance focuses on strengthening awareness, prevention, treatment, and community engagement across the state.
The event—endorsed by Governor Umo Eno, Ph.D.—runs from November 24th to December 1st, 2025, and features a series of strategic activities aimed at boosting public health education and sustaining the fight against HIV.
Highlights of the 2025 World AIDS Day Schedule
Beginning from October 5th, 2025
Activities: Traditional, religious, and media outreach campaigns across high-burdened LGAs.
Goal: Intensify grassroots sensitization before the main WAD week.
