In education, the review and implementation of lecturers’ allowances have fostered industrial harmony and academic stability, reinforcing Akwa Ibom’s reputation as a state that prioritises human capital.

 

Perhaps most transformative is the administration’s decisive handling of pensions and gratuities. By fully implementing pension payments starting with primary school teachers and clearing over ₦85 billion in gratuity arrears, Governor Eno has restored dignity and economic security to thousands of retirees.

 

These achievements form the backbone of the ARISE Agenda’s commitment to inclusive growth and shared prosperity. It is no surprise that the Trade Union Congress (TUC) of Nigeria named Governor Umo Eno the Most Labour-Friendly Governor in 2025
