The supreme court has upheld the election of Udom Emmanuel, governor of Akwa Ibom state.
In a judgment delivered on Wednesday, the court held that the case filed by Nsima Ekere, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election, lacked merit.
Ekere had challenged the victory of Emmanuel, who was declared the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
But in the lead judgment delivered by Mary Odili, a judge, the apex court validated the victory of Emmanuel.
