According to him, “Politics is people centered, it is the people that decide the leader that they want. The power to elect is in the hands of voters and not the political parties. So, the event of tomorrow will provide a platform for the people of Uyo Senatorial District which comprises of 9 Local Government Areas to come out and tell the governor, you have done so well and you merit our support for second term.”
He also stressed that the endorsement of Governor Udom for second term coming up tomorrow is also a way of sustaining the established rotation of governorship seat across the three senatorial districts in Akwa Ibom State.
“Since the advent of democracy where there have been cries of victimization and marginalization, we have seen that the power was in Uyo Senatorial District with Obong Victor Attah. It moved to Ikot Ekpene and resided in Obong God’swill Akpabio. Now that it is the turn of Eket Senatorial District, it is only logical and very fair for everyone to support the Governor to go beyond 2019.
