Governor Udom Emmanuel makes history today, worships at the Church on Campus, The Victory Chapel, located inside the Town Campus, University of Uyo.
He charged students of the University to uphold morality and fear of God in their dealings to protect and promote the sanctity of the University and ensure their future.
The Governor, apparently reacting to the reported recent cases of insecurity in the campus placed a curse on cultists and vowed to leave no stone unturned to ensure that lives of all students and indeed every life in the state is protected.
He recounted that he had placed a ban on cultism and assured that anyone caught would not be spared.
“ I will do everything possible to ensure the safety of lives and property of Akwa Ibom people”, he assured.
When armed robbers are caught, you discover that all of them are cultists, if we arrest ten kidnappers, all ten turn out to be cultists.
“And when they are caught in the crossfire with our security agents, they travel, that is why you don’t see them again.”
Governor Emmanuel’s visit is the first by a sitting Governor to the students’ campus worship center, and the Governor promised that he is prepared to worship with the students more often.
