The Akwa Ibom State Government has ordered the conduct of fresh promotion interviews for qualified personnel from grade level 7 and above in the state civil service to attain greater inclusivity.
This decision was reached at the Executive Council meeting held today in the EXCO chambers. The decision was reached after a review of the report of the last promotion interview, wherein it was observed that a large number of qualified persons were unable to attend and be assessed. The decision for a fresh process is to allow every qualified person to be examined on the same parameters.
Consequently, the Council has directed the Head of the Civil Service to immediately commence all the processes required to undertake fresh promotion interviews for all qualified civil servants.
However, all the processes must be concluded and reported to the council, before the 1st of October,2020.
