Youths of Akwa Ibom State have been urged to take to Agriculture so as to ensure food sufficiency in the face of an imminent world economic meltdown, occasioned by the Covid-19 Pandemic.
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Marketing and Brand Management, Mr. Ime Uwah, made the call this afternoon at the Emmanuel African Church, Atan Offot, during the March Edition of the Akwa Ibom Youths Prayer meeting.
Uwah said all economic indices point to an impending economic recession if no miracle happens soonest. He, however, advocated an intensive agro-revolution by Akwa Ibom Youths so as to ensure that food is kept on the table regardless of world economic difficulties. Uwah commended the efforts of his boss, Governor Udom Emmanuel in creating an enabling environment for all farmers in the state to thrive, and urged all Akwa Ibomites to take advantage of the various farmer-friendly initiatives to better their lots while ensuring food sufficiency in the state.
The March Edition of the Akwa Ibom Youths Prayer meeting had in attendance the representative of the State Governor and Commissioner for Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport, Mr. Akan Okon; SSA On Youth Matters, Mr. Aniefiok W.
