Defending champions Akwa United Football Club are through to the semi finals of the 2018 Akwa Ibom state FA Cup following a 3-0 thrashing of Hills FC in a quarter final match in Uyo on Monday.

First half goal by Ubong Friday and two more in the second half by Chigozie Chilekwu and Ifeanyi Ede confirmed the Promise Keepers passage to the last four of the competition.

The Nigeria Professional Football League outfit will face Flying Sports Academy of Eket in the semi finals on Friday. The winner of the encounter will play the winner between Cofine FC and Akwa Starlets in Sunday’s final.

The two finalists in the competition will represent Akwa Ibom State in the 2018 Aiteo Cup competition later this year.
