Ephraim Inyang and Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel
Governor Udom Emmanuel has appointed Akparawa Ephraim Inyang-eyen as his Chief of Staff. According to the Commissioner for Information, Sir Charles Udoh who briefed the press after today’s State Executive Council meeting, the appointment takes immediate effect.
According to Charles Udoh, Ephraim Inyang is to also supervise the Ministry of Works until a new substantive Commissioner for Works is appointed.
It could be recalled that after the governor’s election in 2015, Ephraim Inyang who was the President of Transformation Initiative for the Emancipation of Ibom People had a preference for the position of Chief of Staff to the Governor.
TheMail Newspaper learnt on good authority that what stopped him from being appointed Chief of Staff during the governor’s first term was because the governor’s estranged political godfather, Chief Godswill Akpabio had reportedly blocked the appointment.
Ephraim Inyang was later appointed Commissioner for Works by the Governor.
With this new development, credible sources in Government informed our reporter that the Governor might soon dissolve his exco.
