IBENO LGA: TWO MURDERED, OTHERS FLEE, CULT ACTIVITIES

Two people from Ibeno Local Government Area alleged to be members of secret cult groups were murdered as a result of an inter cult clash.

News reaching us is that two indigenes of Mkpanak in Ibeno local government area who are alleged to be members of Lutox cult group (Junior Axe Men) and Dey Bam cult group (Junior Clans Men)respectively, were murdered as a result of a misunderstanding which started at a birthday party.

According to the report from members of the community, one Mr Etia alleged to be a member of the Lutox cult group was attacked and killed by the rival group (Dey Bam) on the night of the Good Friday,
while the corpse of a Dey Bam member was also found in Edo community in Esit Eket local government area on Saturday morning.

Consequently, the Executive Chairman of Ibeno L.G.A, Rt Hon Ifum Udoh and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Ibeno local government area have been up and doing, applying all necessary security measures to bring the situation under control and the culprits to book.

However, the bodies of the victims were deposited at the mortuary pending further actions from the security operatives while suspected members of the groups are on a serious run.
