Akwa Ibom State Government has signed a service and appearance agreement with renowned Nigerian celebrity chef, Ms Hilda Baci, as part of efforts to promote the Ibom Kitchen initiative and the 2026 edition of Christmas Unplugged.
Under the agreement, which covers the period from November 30 to December 31, 2026, Ms Baci will serve as the face of Ibom Kitchen and leverage her extensive media reach and influence to promote Christmas Unplugged and the Akwa Ibom Christmas Carols Festival.

This year’s Christmas Unplugged 4.0, themed “Taste of Akwa Ibom: Our Food, Culture and Heritage,” is designed to celebrate and promote the traditional culinary practices and rich cultural heritage of the Akwa Ibom people. The month-long showcase will provide each of the State’s 31 Local Government Areas with an opportunity to showcase its indigenous cuisine, celebrate its cultural identity and revive cherished cultural values and traditions.
Meanwhile, Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, who approved the engagement, congratulated Ms Baci on the partnership and expressed the hope that the collaboration would extend beyond the Christmas festivities to support the State’s broader Destination Akwa Ibom tourism promotion agenda.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Akwa Ibom State Government by members of the State Inter-Ministerial Committee on Christmas Unplugged on Thursday, November 5, 2026, in the Chambers of the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Uko Udom, SAN.
