…Peacock Paint In Focus

From inception, Gov. UDOM had made it clear that the plank of his governance would be the industrialization of Akwa Ibom state. Within his 100 days in office, Gov. Udom took a bold step to revamped the eleven years Moribund Peakcock Paint.

However, the news of this development was welcomed with mixed reactions. While some appreciated and commended the governor for this feat, others tagged it government propaganda. From that moment on, Peacock paint has remained a burning issue Online and offline.

In the light of this, a concerned indigene embarked on a fact-finding trip to Peacock Paint to ascertain the state of the facility and these are their findings:

-Contrary to the rumour that is fast spreading, Peacock Paint is producing.

-The acceptability and patronage of Peakcock Paint have grown beyond the shores of Akwa -Ibom to neighbouring states like Cross River State, Rivers State and Abia State.

-The once upon a time “Best Paint in Nigeria”s rapidly regaining her position.

–Peacock Paint is not solely run by the Akwa Ibom State Government, business is run by a management board and members of staff are paid from proceeds of the business.

-Akwa Ibom State Government provided funds for settlement of debts owed to suppliers and bank.
– The government also provides an enabling environment and a cutting-edge technology for the factory to thrive well and meet production target.

In addition to the existing depots on Ogbeha drive, Ewet housing estate and Aka road both in Uyo, the board of management of Peacock paint is set to establish more depots in Eket, Oron, Ikot Ekpene, Timber market Uyo, for easy access of products.

-It is also worthy of note that the quality of Peacock Paint meets the United Nations standard and the factory is enjoying patronage from Exxon Mobil, Schlumberger and other renowned multinationals.

-It might interest you to note that Peacock paint has the capacity to produce 3 million litres of paint annually and has products such as decorative, industrial and auto finish.
