He is Brigadier General Nasiru Jega, a native of Gwandu in Kebbi State.
Until his posting to Akwa Ibom, Jega was a participant at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, ASCON, Lagos.
He holds a Master of Art from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom and a fellow, National Defense College, Bangladesh.
Brigadier General Jega is taking over from Brigadier General Abdu Hassan who is redeployed to the Nigerian Army Headquarters Infantry Corps Centre, Jaji, Kaduna as Chief of Staff.
He is 48 years old and was enlisted into the Nigerian Defense Academy on 21st September, 1986 and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 21st September, 1991.
